tbh the character of yamada gets a lot of unnecessary hate he’s not that bad a guy like

• he’s actually very polite and nice to everyone??? i can’t think of a single instance where he said a bad thing about another character. even celes, who treated him horribly. 
• he’s only creepy (ie: overly forward) towards 2d fictional characters, something that like 90% of tumblr.corn are also guilty of and probably to a greater extent
• sure he’s attracted towards real women but no more than the average heterosexual man. if u read his reaction to the easter egg bath scene it’s actually really mild, nothing more than an enamored guy hagakure is actually worse bye
• hell, when celes told him that she’d been sexually assaulted by ishimaru, yamada was actUALLY ENRAGED TO THE POINT THAT HE WAS WILLING TO MURDER ISHIMARU FOR HIS CRIME. HE RECOGNIZED THAT IT WAS A CRIME
• his interactions with Alter Ego were definitely his most questionable moment but in his defense he probably likened it to a dating sim/chatbot type of thing & wasn’t aware of how the AI was more capable of human feelings and concerns than he thought. yes, it’s still dubious but it doesn’t make him a rapist jfc

basically im not saying you have to like yamada but 99% of the reasons people have for hating him are rly bullshit and i don’t think he deserves it ye
